Your birth should be the best and most beautiful day for you; because you matter too.

an abundance of joy and a minimal amount of amount of stress

As a mom, I know parents deserve so much better. Baby stuff can be easily replaced and borrowed, your well-being cannot. Giving birth is not just another day, it’s your initiation into parenting. Avoiding unnecessary birth trauma will ease your transition as you navigate the joys and challenges of a newborn.

We prepare and invest so much in other big events, but so little thought is given to this enormous milestone. When almost half of American mothers report having a distressing birth, there is a huge need for change. My vision is a future where parents aren’t just “hoping for the best” but know they are worth more; where all families have a clear plan, access to support and information to have a positive experience with the least amount of stress as possible.

If you believe this too, let’s be friends.

I offer you a valuable and specialized set of skills. No matter what kind of birth support you are looking for, you will be in experienced hands and know that you hired someone who deeply understands and trusts the process. I have worked with hundreds of families and I bring the support of an advanced doula, years of teaching, as well as a photographer with birth-focused education.

As your doula I can help you…

Am I the doula for you?

I work best with families wanting a very educated and active approach. You have to be willing to do some soul-searching and decide you are taking charge to have a positive experience. I am there to remind you of your strength, but I can’t save you and I can’t do it for you.

If you are looking to master your mindset, be informed of your rights, learn to trust your inner wisdom and know how to handle anything unexpected, that is my specialty. Even if you feel a little nervous right now, that’s okay.

You don’t have to know it all but if you believe that this day is too important to leave to chance, I would be a great fit for you.

Support and Lasting Memories

All my in-person packages include birth photography. My special doula talent is that I am two professionals in one. This is a really impactful skill that I bring to the table. Allowing you to remember and process your experience is a very important way I continue to support you after the birth is over. I know these moments are fleeting and the memories are priceless. No matter how you feel about your pregnant body, you deserve to re-live this special time over and over again. Your determination, your courage and your joy are BEAUTIFUL absolutely deserve to be SEEN!

Why Birth Photography?

Birth stories are love stories

See yourself the way I see you (hint: you are glorious)

The emotions of your day

Your first meeting

All the tiny details

Memories for a lifetime

So, a doula with a camera…?

No. I simply did not pick up a camera and call myself a birth photographer. I had already spent years in the birth space learning before I started my birth photography education. While I’m not naturally drawn to a lot of tech and gadgets, the longer time I spent with families, I knew I had to find a way to share all the emotions and beauty that I was seeing over and over; it didn’t feel right to keep them for myself. And so, The Doula Lens was born after a lengthy labor of training with the best in the business, investing in professional equipment and spending lots of time practicing in order to understand how to tell your story in the most beautiful and flattering way.

It takes a very skilled hands, a technical eye and a whole lot of birth knowledge to be able to get crisp images all while protecting and preserving the very intimate and instinctive nature of labor. You cannot just bring a camera into the room and expect to get beautiful, cinematic photos worthy of these life-changing moments. You want a professional.

Word to the wise, there are no do-overs for the day you meet your baby.

More about me

Growing up, I always felt very sensitive. I never enjoyed a lot of surface-level talk and I had a hard time with rigid schedules. Over the years, I’ve realized those are the very strengths I offer as person, a friend and a birthworker.

I'm a deep thinker and flexible. I'm comfortable with with big emotions and a great listener.

I'm empathetic and curious.

If I'm on my phone, I'm snort-laughing over animal reels

Tacos and plants are my love language.

I am happiest hiking with my family and hearing live music.

I have always been interested in the body. I have a degree in Public Health and in my past life, I worked in Chronic Disease Prevention.
